Reasons for becoming a Delagate:
I would like to take part in the Collective Action vision outlined in the ZK Credo and to put these values to work by acting as a Delegate who takes these principles seriously and has a defending them. In other words, I intend to put my theoretical defence into a pragmatic one. I believe that zkSync culture is an expression of traditional Cypherpunk values at the L2 layer and that this represents a unique path in the L2 ecosystem that I want to ensure has a strong chance of succeeding.
My expertise is specifically in the area of Ethereum governance as it relates to our shared cultural values and how these values demarcate the boundaries of legitimate decision-making within blockchain communities. I have written academic research specifically on how DAOs operate and understand the potential pitfalls a new DAO might encounter well. I consider myself a thoughtful and careful reader of decentralised community organisation and I will ensure that I weigh up decisions about the zkSync ecosystem in line with the core values of decentralisation, permissionlessness, censorship resistance and credible neutrality.
Rationale: This TPP has been extensively discussed at this stage and the team behind it has even scheduled open calls for Delegates to ask questions. It has been revised in light of this feedback. I believe the 325m ZK allocation, while large, is necessary to bolster zkSync’s nascent DeFi ecosystem. I have researched OpenBlock Labs (OBL) and they appear to be competent practitioners and appreciate their attention to detail. The DSC reviews seem sensible and the technicals well implemented, as far as one can tell pre-liveness.
Shortening the execution delay substantially is a benefit to the zkSync user. As a small note it would be good to have a better sense of the Security Council’s role here, but perhaps it is not possible for operational security reasons. It does seem a relatively short window, so we are in effect trusting the logistics are well thought out. However, all in all I am happy to see this change.
[Update - more details were provided and everything looks good].
Quality of life improvement that I can find no reason to vote against and appears to have strong support in the community. This is the “re-vote” after an issue was discussed in the earlier proposal.
