CALL NOTES & RECORDING
Thanks to everyone who joined the Proposal Review Call on Wednesday! Below is a collection of summarized notes and links shared in the call.
Check out the video description for timestamps on different discussion topics. Given we have the recording, notes will be kept very brief. Please watch the recording for full context!
Proposal Updates:
Onchain: [TPP-6] ZKsync Security Council v2 Funding - This proposal has met quorum and voting will close on Tuesday, August 19th at ~23:40 UTC. This proposal requests approval of a capped minter to fund 12 months of ZKsync Security Council operations, up to a maximum of $1.108 million USD. See forum discussion around this proposal.
Onchain: [TPP-7] ZKsync Guardians Funding 2024-2026 - Voting starts August 20th at ~13:00 UTC. This proposal allocates 8.5M ZK tokens to fund the compensation of ZKsync Guardians for 2 years, from governance launch in September 2024 through to September 2026. See forum discussion around this proposal.
Forum Draft: [ZIP-12] V29 Interop Messaging & Fast Finality Upgrade: @StanislavBreadless joined the call to present ZIP-12. The v29 upgrade enables native message passing between ZK Chains and provide faster finality guarantees to third-party observers and applications, such as exchanges and bridges. This proposal is expected to go onchain next week.
- Proposal Questions:
- What is the current timeline for Gateways adoption for ZKsync Chains?
- Any other ZKsync Chain is now able to adopt Gateway. Era launched on Gateway end of July, but we expect broader adoption to be a gradual process. The Matter Labs engineering team is coordinating with ZKsync Chains to figure out the best implementation plan for each chain.
- What comes next after v29?
- Surprise: v30! Which will will include additional interop functionality, including asset transfers. Expected ???

Ecosystem Updates
@portport255 joined to provide an ecosystem update to Delegates. This included updates on growing institutional interest in Prividiums, an Airbender speed brag, and explanation on how additional interop and Airbender capabilities are unlocking market demand from institutions and app chains alike.
- Prividium demand surging – There has been a strong institutional interest in customizable, privacy-preserving chains that remain interconnected; seen as a market differentiator vs competitors (seen as ~6 months behind). (See links to X threads below)
- Mind-bending Airbender – Claimed fastest open-source RISC-V ZKVM (faster than both open- and closed-source alternatives), enabling proving of entire blockchains on 1–2 consumer GPUs; Ethereum blocks provable on a laptop in minutes/seconds vs hours previously.
- Unlocking Interoperability – As interop features on Gateway are implemented over upcoming ZIPs (e.g ZIP-12 v29), combined with Airbender’s speed, enables near-instant proof-based interop (e.g., sub-1 second cross-chain communication), eliminating need for slower or less secure bridge solutions (e.g., multi-sig based).
Trigger Mod Presentation from Factory Labs
@Matt_FactoryLabs and @drnick joined to present their work on the Trigger Mod - a minter mod that allows for minting from a capped minter and immediately execute multiple function calls - all in one atomic transaction.
They talked through some of the technical principles, the problems it solves (e.g. from Ignite) and how it can be used in future program mechanics. Find relevant links below and minutue 28:45 in the recording to learn more!
