Call Notes & Recording
Thanks to everyone who joined the Proposal Review Call on Wednesday! Below is a collection of summarized notes and links shared in the call.
Check out the video description for timestamps on different discussion topics. Given we have the recording, notes will be kept very brief. Please watch the recording for full context!
Emergency Upgrade:
- Incident Report: CodeOracle memory page divergence: This incident report was posted on May 27th after the execution of an Emergency Upgrade to fix a batch proving issue on Abstract earlier this month.
Execution Updates:
- Security Council update on GAP-3 execution:
- The Security Council shared details around how they were able to convert the recovered ETH from the unclaimed airdrop incident a few months ago back in to ZK.
- Key takeaway: 100.5% of exploited funds have been recovered. All recovered ZK tokens are now held by the Token Governor Timelock, which is under control of the Token Assembly. This concludes all actions related to the airdrop incident.
- [ZIP-10] Activate ZK Gateway as a Settlement Layer
- Under risk review with the Security Council. ExpectedL1 execution currently Monday, June 9th
- [ZIP-11] V28 Precompile Upgrade
- Under risk review with the Security Council. Expected L1 execution currently Monday, June 9th
Update on ZKsync Foundation Proposal Priorities
Marco from the ZKsync Foundation shared an update in this thread which covered:
- Overview of what the Foundation has been working on lately
- Recap what work and proposals have been executed in past quarter
- Overview of areas of interest for ecosystem proposals
Marco reiterated that the focus remains sustainable protocol development & security. He also discussed what types of ecosystem proposals can be expected from the Foundation - which will likely be smaller, leaner experimental Token Programs to see what works well and what makes sense to scale. Watch the call recording starting at 07:45 for the full discussion!
PAUSE Delegate Calls for June & July
Shelby shared this post last week requesting Delegate feedback on pausing the bi-weekly Delegate calls that take place on Tuesday for the months of June & July. The bi-weekly Proposal Review calls would continue as scheduled.
So far, Delegates have shown support for this experiment. If there are not major objections received by Friday, June 6th, I will cancel the bi-weekly (Tuesday) Delegates calls for June & July.
