Proposal Updates:
Executed Onchain:
[ZIP-12] V29 Interop Messaging & Fast Finality Upgrade - This proposal passed Security Council security review and was executed on L1 last week (see L1 execution links)
[ZIP-13] Adding a ZKsync OS CTM - This proposal passed Security Council security review and was executed on L1 last week (see L1 execution links)
[TPP-10] ZKsync Prividium Roadshow: This proposal passed with 863M ZK in favor of the proposal.
Onchain - Voting Live:
Voting is currently live for both proposals. The initial voting window end time is Wednesday, October 29th, but will be extended if quorum is met, from the point quorum is met on each by 7 days.
[TPP-11] ZKsync Governance System Infrastructure Funding - This proposal requests ~$1.65M USD (33M ZK at $0.05/ZK) to fund governance infrastructure that power protocol upgrades, token distribution, and coordination across the ZKsync ecosystem.
[TPP-12] ZKnomics Token Staking - This proposal activates a pilot staking program using Tally staking contracts. The pilot distributes ZK token staking rewards over 6 months with up to 10% return for pilot participants. Reward eligibility is limited to tokenholders delegating to “active” Delegates, those that have voted a minimum of 2 out of last 5 votes.
Forum Draft:
[ZIP-XX] Upgrade ZK Token with Permissionless Burn Function - Upgrades the ZK Token contract to ZKTokenV3, introducing 2 token burn mechanisms and a public max token supply to support protocol-aligned supply management under ZKnomics. This upgrade is conditional to ZIP-12 being executed. Calldata expected as early as next week - will go onchain once ready.
Ecosystem Updates
ZK Token MiCA White Paper
The ZKsync Association has published the ZK Token MiCA White Paper. The MiCA White Paper includes an overview of the ZKsync protocol, compliance details such as token classifications, and a description of underlying technologies such as cryptographic standards, governance, and unique security model built with ZK-proofs.
The white paper is a canonical documentation for the ZKsync ecosystem and partners can more easily understand the ZK Token and ZKsync Protocol.
MetaLex: ZKsync Guardians Token Vesting
The Guardians payments and contracts are being managed through MetaLex. MetaLex replaces docusign & manual transactions with fully non-custodial and programmatic execution of terms and ZK distributions to Guardians via a vesting contract.
