:information_source: Check out the video description for timestamps on different discussion topics. Given we have the recording, notes will be kept very brief. Please watch the recording for full context!

Proposal Updates:

Onchain: [TPP-8] ZKsync Community Activation Pilot Program - This proposal allocates 20M ZK tokens across a 12-month pilot program to fund community-driven education, adoption, and visibility for ZKsync. Quorum has been met - voting ends Monday, Sep 29th.

Onchain: [TPP-9] ZKsync Prividium Prize - This proposal pilots a prize program to accelerate the launch of ZKsync Prividium Chains by rewarding the first 10 production deployments with 10M ZK each. Quorum has been met - voting ends Monday, Sep 29th.

Onchain: [TPP-10] ZKsync Prividium Roadshow: This proposal will scale ZKsync’s reach and drive Prividum adoption by securing sponsorships at high-leverage Ethereum and institutional finance events, as well as institutional networking activations.

Forum Draft: [ZIP-12] V29 Interop Messaging & Fast Finality Upgrade - The v29 upgrade enables native message passing between ZK Chains and provide faster finality guarantees to third-party observers and applications, such as exchanges and bridges. This proposal has been delayed due to some bugs discovers on testnet. Expected to go onchain next week.

Forum Draft: [ZIP-13] Adding a ZKsync OS CTM: This ZIP proposes to add a ZKsync OS based ChainTypeManager (CTM). This is the first milestone towards adoption of the ZKsync OS, which enables chains to have full EVM equivalence, while enjoying cheaper and faster proofs. Expected to go onchain after ZIP-12 is executed.

Forum Draft: [ZIP-XX] Upgrade ZK Token with Permissionless Burn Function - Upgrades the ZK Token contract to ZKTokenV3, introducing 2 token burn mechanisms and a public max token supply to support protocol-aligned supply management under ZKnomics. This upgrade is conditional to ZIP-12 being executed. Expected to go onchain after ZIP-12 & ZIP-13 are executed.

Question:

  • Does the max supply function impact any existing calculations or contracts?
    • No. Since the token launch, the cap for total ZK supply has been 21B (see docs). There will be no impact for any partners or exchanges. The function enables anyone to read the max supply from the token contract and creates a hard-coded cap that can only be changed via Token Assembly approval.

Forum Draft: [TPP-DRAFT] ZKnomics Token Staking - This proposal activates a pilot staking program using Tally staking contracts. The pilot distributes ZK token staking rewards over 6 months with up to 10% return for pilot participants. Reward eligibility is limited to tokenholders delegating to “active” Delegates, those that have voted a minimum of 2 out of last 5 votes. Expected onchain next week.

  • Note: The Staking pilot requires stakers to delegate to participate. Rewards will only be available to stakers who delegate to ACTIVE Delegates (voted on 2 or more of last 5 votes), creating an incentive to delegate to active Delegates. If you are looking to earn more voting power via the Staking pilot, make sure you are voting to appeal to stakers looking for Delegates in the program!

NEW - Forum Draft: [TPP-DRAFT] ZKsync Governance System Infrastructure Funding - This proposal requests ~$1.65M USD (33M ZK at $0.05/ZK) to fund governance infrastructure that power protocol upgrades, token distribution, and coordination across the ZKsync ecosystem.

Devconnect Update:

Shelby will be flying solo during Devconnect this year! She is helping organize the Governance Geeks Community Hub that will be hosted at the main venue in Buenos Aires. Unfortunately, given capacity constraints traveling alone, there is no ZKsync Delegate meetup planned for the week. However, we invite you to come by the Governance Geeks Hub to participate in governance discussions and hang out with Shelby and other governance geeks alike!
