[ZIP-10] Activate ZK Gateway as a Settlement Layer

We’re supporting ZIP-10 because it represents a thoughtful and modular upgrade to the system’s scalability and efficiency. By enabling ZK Gateway to act as a shared settlement layer, the proposal significantly reduces batch transaction costs for ZK Chains—making operations like commit, prove, and execute much cheaper and more predictable. This is particularly impactful for chains that aren’t dependent on Ethereum’s data availability layer, offering a more cost-effective and flexible alternative.

As ITU Blockchain, we find the inter-chain interoperability enhancements equally important. Facilitating secure and fast communication between ZK Chains is essential for the modular future of the ecosystem. The architecture’s optionality—allowing each chain to decide whether to adopt the ZK Gateway layer—preserves autonomy while promoting broader network cohesion.

We also recognize the careful attention paid to security. The codebase has already been audited in prior ZIPs, and while the system will initially rely on a single sequencer, the long-term plan for decentralization gives us confidence. Overall, ZIP-10 is a solid step forward, and we’re casting a firm “yes” vote in favor.
