AAVE cites technical challenges and governance complexities as reasons for their delay. While these may be valid, they are not unique. Many smaller participants face similar difficulties, yet they are expected to meet deadlines without exceptions. Why should a large player like AAVE be granted preferential treatment while others are held to a different standard?
The process for submitting Token Program Proposals (TPPs) already heavily favors those with technical expertise and resources. It requires deploying custom minter contracts and navigating intricate governance frameworks - barriers that exclude many smaller contributors and non-technical participants.
If ZKsync allows this extension solely for AAVE, it sends a clear message: influence matters more than fairness, and decentralization is an ideal, not a practice. This decision risks turning ZKsync into yet another platform where power belongs to the few, contradicting its foundational promise of integrity and equality.
To preserve the ecosystem’s credibility, any extension must apply universally to all participants. Fairness cannot be selective - it must be a core, unshakable principle.
