Proposal Updates
ZKsync Foudation Proposal Pipeline Update - The ZKsync Foundation posted an update earlier this week sharing updates & example proposals for three of their active governance workstreams: operational decentralization, ecosytsem growth and token utility.
PASSED: [TPP-6] ZKsync Security Council v2 Funding - This proposal will fund 12 months of ZKsync Security Council operations.
Voting Live: [TPP-7] ZKsync Guardians Funding 2024-2026 - This proposal allocates 8.5M ZK tokens to fund the compensation of ZKsync Guardians for 2 years, from governance launch in September 2024 through to September 2026. See forum discussion around this proposal. Voting closes August 29th at ~18:30 UTC.
Forum Draft: [ZIP-12] V29 Interop Messaging & Fast Finality Upgrade: The v29 upgrade enables native message passing between ZK Chains and provide faster finality guarantees to third-party observers and applications, such as exchanges and bridges. This proposal was delayed due to some bugs discovers on testnet. Expected to go onchain next week.
Forum Draft: [TPP-Draft] ZKsync Community Activation Pilot Program - This proposal allocates 20M ZK tokens across a 12-month pilot program to fund community-driven education, adoption, and visibility for ZKsync. No expected onchain date yet.
Questions:
- How will this be different from the Gitcoin program?
- The Gitcoin program was a lot bigger and more complex. It was also more of a closed program given run by a 3rd party. Taking learnings from the original community program, the Foundation wanted this program to have more public transparency and open up RFP requests to the broader ZKsync community.
Forum Draft: [RFC]: Funding Research for a DAO Liveness, Security and Decentralization Dashboard for ZKNation - This proposal requests funding research and development of a governance liveness, security risks monitor and decentralizaiton measurement Forse Terminal for ZK Nation’s governance. No expected onchain date yet.
Forum Draft (posted today - not discussed on call): [TPP-Draft] ZKsync Prividium Prize - This proposal pilots a prize program to accelerate the launch of ZKsync Prividium Chains by rewarding the first 10 production deployments with 10M ZK each. No expected onchain date yet.
Other Updates
TPP Sponsor Bounty Pilot
The ZKsync Association is funding a pilot program to reward Delegates who sponsors successfully executed TPPs to acknowledge the time and resources involved for Delegates to sponsor a governance proposal. Read more here.
Delay Mod Presentation
Shelby presented the newly live Delay Mod - a minter mod that creates a time delay (veto window) between a mint request and mint execution on the linked capped minter. In practice, this enables Token Programs to be “self-serve” & allow for flexible minting allowance. Check out minute 37:45 in the recording to learn more!
