Hello everyone! This will be the thread for the next standing Proposal Review call that is meant to take place on - Wednesday, January 29th at 16:30 UTC.

Proposal authors of active or developing proposals can request time to present & discuss their proposals with the community.

I will update this forum post the day of the call with a proposed agenda based on results from the forum. I will use that agenda as a guide to help facilitate the call.

I have only received confirmation that the Catalyst proposal team (@Areta @drnick) to discuss updates on their proposal.

I will also provide an update on all onchain proposals that were approved this week.

Please drop other proposals (active or developing) to discuss in this thread before the call so we can make sure budget time to discuss.

I’d be happy to talk about the [Draft] Protocol Governor Upgrade that I just posted as well as the Gateway preparation upgrade (not yet on the forum)

Thanks @theshelb!

We’d also like to get a quick sense check around TPP <> Tech Provider matching. I.e., how do people currently feel about more visibility of who is working on what. Obv. can’t force anyone to share, but think could be an interesting sense check. We discussed possibly having a dedicated session in the future to help facilitate this matching.

Also, @TempeTechie.etc - maybe it’d be cool to give a quick rundown of the Snapshot discussions? Know it’s not an official proposal, but it might be interesting for everyone to hear about as there’s some engagement.

Hope this doesn’t hijack the proposal call too much!

I can provide a brief update on the Staking proposal.

The short version is that we’re waiting for some security audits to complete, so that we can post a proposal that includes all the actual smart contracts.

Thanks to everyone who joined the standing Proposal Review call on Wednesday! Below is a collection of summarized notes and links shared in the call from yesterday.

:information_source: Check out the video description for timestamps on different discussion topics. Given we have the recording, notes will be kept very brief. Please watch the recording for full context!

:pray:Please add discussion topics as early as possible so we make sure we have enough time budgeted for each topic!

Onchain

Quick update on all 4 onchain proposals:

On Forum

NEW [ZIP Draft] Protocol Parameter Upgrade

Why not split this into two proposals? One for the Protocol Governor parameter changes and one for protocol upgrade enhancement?

  • Stas noted they are open to doing this. If you have strong convictions on this point please leave a note on the forum post.

Note: From Raf (Tally) The Token Assembly should avoid other proposals to the old Protocol Governor during the upgrade. If the upgrade proposal passes, in-flight Protocol Governor proposals will be pointed to the old, now defunct governor.

NEW [ZIP Draft] Prepare ZKsync for ZK Gateway

  • No questions

UDPATE [TPP] Staking for ZKsync

  • No questions

UPDATE [TPP] Catalyst: Incentivising Network Growth with Token Programs

Question: Any advice for proposal authors working on proposals?

  • Get to the forum as early as you can to just showcase it ideally also present it in early governance calls for early feedback and can avoid having to restructure a lot of things in the end. Having one shared doc for early drafting and feedback has been helpful too.

DISCUSSION Snapshot profile for temp checks & elections

  • Note from Gov Team: Governance for ZKsync was designed to be onchain. Proposal author are welcome to use whatever tools they find helpful to get their onchain proposal ready for submission, but there is no requirement in the ZKsync governance procedures for proposal authors to use offchain processes to gain consensus. This was an intentional decision in the governance design process to minimize the burdon of governance.
  • Will continue discussion on standing Delegate call next week.
