The Security Council reviewed ZIP-6 to ensure that the proposed changes function as intended and that the upgrade process adheres to governance and security requirements.

Execution Timeline

A key point raised during the review was the execution timeline of the two-stage upgrade. Specifically, verification was needed to confirm that the second upgrade would only be executed after the mandatory 14-day waiting period following the first upgrade. This is enforced by the checkDeadline() function in the GovernanceUpgradeTimer.

Proposal Author’s Response:

  • Confirmed that this is the intended behavior and aligns with the ZIP-6 upgrade process.
  • Clarified that the emergency upgrade mechanism and the 14-day delay were correctly implemented.

Verification Tool

To support the Security Council’s review, the proposal author provided a verification tool, accessible to SC members, allowing them to independently validate the upgrade conditions.
