Program Background

As the administrator of the Community Activation Token Program Proposal (TPP), the ZKsync Foundation will issue Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to achieve outcomes aligned with the scope of the Community Activation initiative.

For information on how an RFP works, and how RFPs are different from a grants program, please read this post.

RFP 2 Description: ZK Stack Content Experiment

This RFP requests proposals to design and execute a community activation experiment, that can be executed over a maximum of 8 weeks, to test scalable models for community-driven growth of the ZK Stack.

The goal is to explore how coordinated participation, through content creation, engagement amplification, and creative recruitment, can expand ZKsync’s reach and improve developer and user onboarding across the ecosystem.

Proposals may include two stages of execution, or focus on a single strategy. For example:

Part 1 – Volume

A broad participation phase to generate a wide range of community-created content, test engagement strategies, and identify promising contributors.

Part 2 – Impact

A focused collaboration phase selecting top contributors from Part 1 for deeper work on high-quality, outcome-driven content and ecosystem engagement.

Example Focus Areas

  • Ecosystem Amplification: Coordinated quote-tweets, reposts, and commentary aligned with ZKsync’s developer and main accounts.
  • ZK Stack Education: Community-created explainers, guides, and short-form educational content on ZK Stack products and deployment.
  • Creative Talent Discovery: Collaboration with designers, writers, and marketers who can help make the ZKsync ecosystem more visible and human-centered.

The ideal proposal will treat this as a measurable experiment with structured reporting and transparent learnings for future program design.

Budget

The maximum budget which may be distributed for this community activation initiative is 300k ZK (~$15k at $0.05).

Funds will be distributed in two tranches to the administrator:

  • 50% at program start (Part 1)
  • 50% after mid-term evaluation (Part 2)

Proposal Requirements

Proposals for this RFP should include:

  • Approach & Methodology – Describe the experimental structure, content activation plan, and how participants will be recruited and supported.
  • KPIs & Metrics – Define measurable success indicators (e.g. number of community posts, engagement uplift, developer deployments).
  • Team & Experience – Introduce the team, relevant experience, and any external collaborators.
  • Budget & Timeline – Provide a detailed breakdown and timeline of costs and incentives across the 8-week period.
  • Reporting Plan – Outline how progress and outcomes will be documented and shared publicly.

Please reference the RFP Proposal Guidelines & Template as a guide.

Experiment Design Clarity, scalability, and feedback loop for testing and iteration.
Measurable Outcomes Clear success metrics and data collection plan.
Community Experience Demonstrated credibility and track record in community or content activation.

Community Activation RFP 2 Winner: ZKnomist – ZK Stack Content Experiment

The ZKsync Foundation has selected the proposal submitted by ZKnomist (Madmaxx) for RFP 2: ZK Stack Content Experiment under the Community Activation Token Program.

After reviewing submission against alignment, experimental design, measurable outcomes, and community experience, this proposal stood out as a strong fit for the goals of the initiative.

Summary of the Selected Proposal

Title: ZK Stack Community Activation Experiment
Duration: 8 weeks
Funding: 300,000 ZK in two tranches
Administrator: ZKnomist

The experiment is structured as a two-part activation designed to test scalable community-driven models for growing the ZK Stack ecosystem.

Part 1 focuses on broad participation and high-volume community-created content across tutorials, explainers, memes, short-form videos, and engagement aligned with the ZKsync main and developer channels.

Part 2 narrows the field to high-performing contributors from Part 1 and supports them in producing deeper, higher-impact educational and ecosystem content.

The proposal targets three outcome areas:

• Ecosystem amplification via coordinated reposts, commentary, and engagement
• Creative talent discovery for future ecosystem content and campaigns
• Developer onboarding through community-created ZK Stack explainers, tutorials, and walkthroughs

The submission included a full breakdown of deliverables, participant cadence, reporting milestones, and success metrics.

Reporting and Funding

The Foundation will distribute funding in two tranches:

• 50 percent at program start
• 50 percent after the mid-term evaluation at week 4. Success of Part 1 is determined at the discretion of the ZKsync Foundation.

The ZKnomist team will publish a mid-term report and a final post-mortem to the Governance Forum. Please note there may be a break between Part 1 and Part 2 to account for the Christmas/New Year period.

Next Steps

The program will begin following the initial disbursement. Progress updates and public reporting will follow the schedule outlined in the proposal.

Please note: The execution of this RFP submission is separate and independent from any work carried out by ZKnomist under Workstream 1 of the ZKsync Community Activation Pilot Program.
