L2BEAT Delegate Communication Thread

Here’s an update on what we’ve been up to between November 2024 and January 2025

Voting

[Tally] [TPP-001] ZKsync Ignite Program: Creating a Liquidity Hub for ZKsync - Voted FOR

We decided to vote in favor of this proposal after carefully revieweing both the original proposal and the discussion surrounding it. Even though our main concerns were addressed, we remain quite skeptical about the program and the results it will yield. Therefore, we’re committed to monitoring the program’s progress closely and’ll be looking to hold everyone involved to a high standard.

[Tally] [ZIP-001] Protocol Defense - Voted FOR

We supported this proposal because the proposed quality-of-life changes will improve the experience for developers and users without being contentious. Although OpenZeppelin highlighted some non-critical security issues, these have been fully or partially addressed.

[Tally] [ZIP-002] Reduce the execution delay from 21 hours to 3 hours - Voted FOR

We originally had some concerns about reducing the time to 3 hours as we thought that this change would make it quite challenging for Security Council members to address problems on time. But after a test that proved the Security Council reaction time, we decided to support this initiative.

[Tally] [GAP-1] ZKsync Token Program Priorities 2025 Endorsement - Voted FOR

We agree that setting priorities in this matter is a significant step toward ensuring our initiatives are cohesive and aligned with a common goal. However, we also believe it’s important to maintain flexibility to adapt to potential changes in the landscape throughout 2025.

[Tally] [ZIP-4] Reduce the execution delay from 21 hours to 3 hours - Voted FOR

We voted in favor for the same reason we did during the original proposal. This is just a resubmission.

[Tally] [GAP-2] Adopt The SEAL Safe Harbor Agreement - Voted FOR

We have supported the SEAL agreement in multiple DAOs where we are active delegates, as it improves security without creating additional overhead for the DAO. So, we decided to support it.

L2BEAT’s Office Hours

We want to remind everyone that every week, we’re hosting our Governance Office Hours on Google Meets.

The office hours will be held every Friday at 4 pm UTC/ 11 am EST

During Office Hours, you will be able to reach L2BEAT’s governance team, which consists of Kaereste (Krzysztof Urbanski) and Sinkas (Anastassis Oikonomopoulos), and discuss our activity as delegates.

The purpose of the office hours is to gather feedback from the people who have delegated to us, answer any questions in regard to our voting activities and rationale, and collect input on things you’d like us to engage in discussions about.

You can add the L2BEAT Governance Calendar in your Google Calendar to find the respective Google Meets links for every call and to easily keep track of the Office Hours, as well as other important calls and events (e.g. voting deadlines) relevant to zkSync that L2BEAT governance team will be attending or hosting.
