Introduction

I’m Michael Lewellen (mikelewellen.eth), and I’ve been working with the ZkSync team for over a year as part of OpenZeppelin to help secure the protocol. As a long-standing contributor to the Compound DAO, serving as their Security Advisor through OpenZeppelin’s partnership, I have hands-on experience in tackling DAO governance and security challenges. I bring a unique perspective on pain points related to DAO security and governance practices, which I’m eager to contribute to ZkSync as an individual delegate. My goal is to help ensure that ZkSync remains trustless, censorship-resistant, and scalable while maintaining robust security.

Core Values
I believe in transparency, security, and the importance of upholding good governance principles. It’s crucial to me that ZkSync remains an open and resilient layer for Ethereum scalability, where trustlessness and censorship resistance are preserved. I’m committed to contributing my expertise to ensure these values are embedded in all governance decisions.

Representation/Conflicts of Interest
I work at OpenZeppelin, where we partner with the Matter Labs team as an auditor and ZkNation as a member of the ZkSync Security Council. OpenZeppelin does audits other Layer 2 Rollups, including Arbitrum, Scroll, and Optimism. However, I am participating in ZkSync governance as an independent delegate and do not represent OpenZeppelin in any capacity. I will endeavor to disclose conflicts of interest when they arise in governance decisions and recuse myself when necessary.
