Pause TPP and GAP Proposal Submissions Until ZIP-5 Execution
The ZKsync Association requests that all TPP and GAP proposals be temporarily paused until ZIP-5 is executed on L1 (expected mid-March).
Pausing TPP and GAP proposal submissions ensures a smooth transition to the governance changes introduced by ZIP-5 and prevents inconsistencies in how governance actions are managed across the ZKsync ecosystem.
ZKsync governance is decentralized, and this request is not enforced onchain. Instead, the ZKsync Association relies on the cooperation of Delegates with proposal power to voluntarily hold off on submitting new proposals until ZIP-5 has been executed and is in effect.
Why Delegates Should Delay TPP and GAP Proposal Submission Until ZIP-5 is Executed
- Alignment with Updated Governance Contracts
The redeployment of the Token Governor and GovOps Governor updates the Veto Guardian to a new contract. Executing ZIP-5 first ensures that all governance components reference the correct infrastructure, preventing misalignment. - Avoiding Fragmentation in Governance Processes
ZIP-5 also streamlines governance by reducing voting delays and quorum extension periods. Ensuring proposals are submitted only after its execution guarantees consistency across all governance actions.
By following this approach, we can ensure a structured and efficient transition while maintaining governance stability. We encourage all Delegates to support this temporary pause and resume proposal submissions only after ZIP-5 is executed.
