Hello everyone! This will be the thread for the next standing Proposal Review call that is meant to take place on - Wednesday, March 26th at 16:30 UTC.
Proposal authors of active or developing proposals can request time to present & discuss their proposals with the community.
I will update this forum post the day of the call with a proposed agenda based on results from the forum. I will use that agenda as a guide to help facilitate the call.

ZIP Updates
- ZIP-6 execution update: The final execution is tracking for either end of this week or Monday next week. Still waiting on confirmations from some ZK chains that they’ve completed the upgrade.
- ZIP-8 execution update: It was approved by the Security Council yesterday. The execution of ZIP-8 is currently blocked by the execution of ZIP-6.
New Proposal Drafts on Forum
[ZIP-9] V27 EVM Emulation Upgrade: ZIP-9 proposes the V27 upgrade for ZKsync with two key features: (1) EVM emulation, and (2) Fflonk verifier.
Questions:
-
What are some examples of use-cases EVM emulation will unlock?
- There is a need to have a compatible address derivation scheme. For example, OpenSea or Gnosis Safe contract generally prefer to be deployed on the same addresses on every EVM chain. EVM emulation will unlock a lot smoother experience for several protocols.
- It will be possible to deploy Seaport using great to factory deployed onchain using the same commands, the same flow as for every EVM equivalent chain.
- Another very important example is that you can use Foundry and deploy the same bytecode and the same contracts on an EVM chain, for example on Ethereum, and you can deploy that same contracts on EraVM chain for example the ZKsync Era.
-
Timeline & Next Steps: Need to wait for full execution of ZIP-6. Target to deploy EVM emulation on testnet and the proposal onchain is sometime between Monday and Wednesday next week.
Unified Elastic Network Dashboard: Create a comprehensive analytics dashboard to track all ZKsync Elastic Network chains, metrics, and ecosystem growth in a single unified platform.
- The ZKsync Foundation has already funded work to create a share metrics dashboard for ZK Chains as part of the shared services initiative we discussed here. They are working with Matter Labs on building the necessary data pipeline for the dashboard and will hopefully be able share an update on progress soon.
- No further action for now.
