I attended Devconnect in Buenos Aires this year and had the opportunity to speak about token mechanics and other elements of the ZKsync governance system throughout the week. Below is a summary of the presentations and talks, as well links to slides.
Token Mechanics Presentation & Panel @ Governance Day
Governance Day Devconnect day 2 focused on research, experimentation, and deep exploration of decentralized governance. I gave a short presentation on token mechanics alongside several other governance experimentation talks. The five-minute presentation defined token mechanics, highlighted examples of how they are used in ZKsync governance today, and shared key learnings from the first year of experimentation. All presenters from this block then joined a panel discussion and took questions from the audience.
Thank you to Metagov, @SEEDGov, Blockful, and @Curia for organizing! Slides can be found here.
Token Mechanics Presentation @ Governance Geeks Hub at Devconnect
I presented a longer-form version of the token mechanics talk at the Governance Geeks Hub on Wednesday which was focused on “Governance Innovations”. This one-hour session went deeper into token mechanics and smart contract–based enforcement of distribution rules, with concrete examples from ZKsync’s new capped minter model and other emerging programmatic governance designs. Several ZKsync delegates attended, which enriched the discussion and helped create additional context for other participants.

Emerging DAO Entity Structure Panel @ Governance Geeks Hub at Devconnect
This panel, held on Thursday at the Governance Geeks Hub, explored emerging approaches to formalizing decentralized organizations while maintaining community ownership and autonomy. Erin Koen from Uniswap discussed the migration to DUNA (DUNI), ZKsync Guardian @lex_node presented MetaLex’s BORG model, and I shared insights on the Austrian Association model.
The discussion underscored how compliance and regulation are increasingly shaping token and entity deployments and decisions, signaling a shift from ambiguity toward greater certainty. There were no slides for this session.
Organized & Hosted Governance Geeks Hub throughout Devconnect
I was a core organizer of the The Governance Geeks Hub at Devconnect again this year. The hub was 1 of 15 community hubs that were at Devconnect in Buenos Aires this year. The Governance Geeks Hub exists to unite governance enthusiasts from diverse perspectives, creating a space to share ideas, explore important topics, and build meaningful connections that drive more sustainable and accessible governance for all.
Shout out to all of the ZKsync Delegates who showed up and contributed to the discussions throughout the week! It was so great to see everyone and catch up in person! ![]()
