On Tuesday, November 12th the ZKsync Governance Systems Team (Gov Team) is hosting a small ZKsync Delegate Meetup in Bangkok. The gathering will focus on workshopping key topics that are top of mind for Delegates in the early months following the launch of ZK Nation. It’s also an opportunity for Delegates to meet each other in person, work together and build connections.
Delegate Meetup Format
Ahead of the meetup, the Gov Team will gather insights from Delegates on top priorities and concerns for ZKsync governance at the moment. These topics will be compiled and shared at the event, where participants will collectively select three topics to workshop in small groups. The Gov Team will provide facilitation and support as needed, and each group will present the outcomes of their sessions at the end.
The Gov Team will collect notes from the workshops and draft a post to share on the forum so Delegates who are not able to attend can review the outcomes of the event.
Currating Discussion Topics - CALL TO ACTION FOR DELEGATES
Even though not all Delegates can make it to the meetup, the Gov Team wants to make sure all Delegates are able to contribute to the curration of discussion topics if they want to. This thread will also become a great archive that captures Delegate sentiments at this point in time.
@Delegates - Please refer to these guideing questions to brainstorm possible discussion topics for the workshop. Please leave your TOP 3 topics in the thread below!
What topics or questions are top of mind for you right now related to ZKsync Goverance
What areas or obstacles do you think should be prioritized over the next few months?
What aspects of the ZKsync Governance System remain unclear? What additional resources or tools would you find useful?
Thanks for this Shelby. I too won’t be able to make it to the IRL meetup so I appreciate in advance the communication and transparency in this thread of what will be discussed.
Some topics of discussion:
User retention/stickiness
How do we make sure we not only bring users/liquidity/activity on ZKsync but also keep them?
What makes them stay in one ecosystem?
What it takes to create a culture of builders, developers, entrepreneurs, creators, artists, etc.
Ensuring the success of TPPs
What do we have to do to make sure TPPs are a success
Reusable TPP templates to streamline their use
Tools and apps that make TPP use easy and intuitive
Dedicated team to work with building custom TPPs
Best use cases for TPPs and programs they could support to grow ZKsync
GTM strategy for TPPs (how do we market them and make them widely accessible in the future)
Building and having the necessary tools for TPPs to be self-executing with minimal human involvement.
Keeping/increasing Delegate participation
Keeping Delegates engaged and contributing
Increasing the number of active Delegates
Evening out the voting power of Delegates and making sure voting power doesn’t concentrate only on the top.
It is crucial to have delegates with deep knowledge across all areas of development, including technological aspects.
One key point that could be addressed is how we can adhere to, maintain, -or train delegates- who will provide relevant input, aligned with the unique way ZK Nation is being developed, an approach that differs from other projects.
I’d like to propose a single topic: How can we design a TPP for builders, both new and existing? Can we create a TPP with a grant process similar to those in other ecosystems, using retro or milestone-based grants? We started discussing this with a few people but couldn’t find clear answers, and it left us feeling unsure. I suggest we form a working group dedicated to exploring this topic.
