Key Participants & Active Delegate Tagging: Advancing Enterprise-Ready Governance

A new tagging system has been launched on vote.zknation.io that highlights key ecosystem participants & active Delegates. The implementation of this tagging system strengthens ZKsync’s governance infrastructure and marks another step toward making ZKsync governance enterprise-ready and easier to navigate for institutional participants.

Project Overview

Until now, the Participants page made it difficult to clearly identify key participants within the ZKsync ecosystem in a long list of Delegates, as well as which Delegates were actively participating in governance.

Enabling token holders to clearly identify active Delegates and understand the roles of key participants is essential for supporting informed decision-making when choosing where to delegate voting power. As enterprise and institutional partners engage more in ZKsync governance, it is increasingly important to clearly identify who the key participants are, enabling these stakeholders to understand which participants are actively shaping governance outcomes.

The new tagging system allows token holders and key enterprise partners to:

  • quickly identify active governance participants
  • understand which builders and partners are participating in governance
  • observe voting patterns of key participants

Tagging System

The tags are visible across the governance interface, enabling institutional users to immediately recognize the participants who are actively contributing to governance outcomes.

Tags types include:

  • Active (participating in at least 2 of past 5 votes) & Inactive tags for all Delegates
  • ZKsync Chains: Chains deployed in the Elastic Network
  • Apps: Apps building on ZKsync Chains
  • Technical Partners: Technical service providers supporting ZKsync
  • Security Council: Members that have Delegate profiles
  • Guardians: Members that have Delegate profiles

Key Interface Changes

When visiting vote.zknation.io, you will now see:

  • Default filter view: “Active” Delegates, sorted by voting power. To change view, change “Active” to “All Participants” in the filter field.
  • Active vs Inactive tag on each Delegate profile
  • Key participants tags (blue) on specific Delegate profiles for ZKsync Chains, Apps, Technical Partners, Security Council, and Guardians
  • Tabs for ZKsync Chains, Apps and Technical Partners at the top of the Participants page (sorted by voting power)
  • The voting results view on specific proposals now list tagged key participants first (ordered by voting power), with all other participants following. This makes it far easier to see how key participants vote on any proposal.

Staking Pilot Interface Integration

The Staking Pilot Program is expected to launch in Q1 2026. On the Staking Pilot Interface, these tags will help token holders who want to participate in the Staking Pilot Program to easily:

  • Identify active Delegates quickly, given staking rewards are conditional to delegating to an active Delegate
  • Identify active Delegates who are key participants in the ecosystem
